Within a wildlife estate, adjoining the World Heritage Site of the Swartberg Nature Reserve, the area is malaria-free and boasts an abundance and variety of wildlife.

Family Retreat
This is an ideal location for an extended family celebration, a getaway for a group of friends, or simply an escape to experience the wonderful surrounds.

The lodge is styled with meticulous attention to detail and comprises of a large well equipped farm-style kitchen which beckons the cooking enthusiast, an outside dining area with braai facility and mountain views, a spacious and large indoor dining room, a comfortable lounge with satellite TV, a well-stocked library, and a crystal clear pool for that leisurely swim on hot summer days.

Expansive patios provide the ideal location to enjoy the sunny days and take in the beautiful view of the mountain and the lapa, with open fire pit, provides a perfect scene for sundowners or to enjoy a spectacular night sky away from the impact of city lights.

WILDLIFE
A rich and diverse environment awaits you. Enjoy the full diversity of the landscape and its wildlife on a game drive.
The estate is home to nearly twenty species of large mammal, including the largest antelope of all, the Eland. Kudu, Oryx, Nyala, Wildebeest, Hartebeest, Blesbok, Springbok, Impala, Lechwe and Giraffe are easily viewed, among others. The endangered Cape Mountain Zebra is well established.

The vegetation varies from Mountain Fynbos to Succulent Karoo and Renosterveld. Protea species can be found in the higher-lying areas, while aloes dominate the landscape on the lower slopes. Most plants flower in the spring, while the protea species tend to flower in autumn, and the bright aloe flowers light up the landscape in winter.

The rich floral diversity attracts a wide variety of birdlife, from sunbirds to raptors to Blue Cranes.

Free of large predators, there is a unique opportunity for the more energetic to explore on foot and the area is ideal for mountain biking.

A Safari Lodge (also known as a Game Lodge) is a type of tourist accommodation in Southern and Eastern Africa. Lodges are mainly used by tourists on wildlife safaris, and are typically located in or near National Parks or Game Reserves.
Game Reserves (especially in South Africa) are large areas of land set aside and protected for wild animals.
South Africa still has a wealth of wild animals. We also have a beautiful list of birds that you will find at most of our Game Reserves.
